SUMMER DAY CAMP INSTRUCTORS - JULY 2026
Orpheus Musical Theatre is seeking Day Camp Instructors for our 2026 Schoolhouse Musical Theatre Summer Camps.
Location: Orpheus House (17 Fairmont Ave, Ottawa)
Dates: July 13 – 31, 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm (1 hour lunch break)
Contract Length: Up to 3 weeks available. Multiple instructors may be hired across different weeks.
About the Camp
Orpheus will run three one week Musical Theatre Camps for students aged 6 – 18.
Participants will explore singing, acting, and dancing, culminating in a Friday showcase performance for family and friends.
Qualifications
We are seeking enthusiastic, passionate individuals who enjoy working with students aged 6–18.
Ideal candidates can teach one or more disciplines (singing, acting, and/or dance) and understand how these elements work together in musical theatre. Collaboration with a co-instructor is essential to deliver a well-rounded experience.
We value educators who are energetic, supportive, and committed to fostering creativity and confidence in young performers.
A Vulnerable Sector Check is required. Emergency First Aid certification is an asset.
Positions Available
Camp Instructor(s) – Lead and supervise camp programming, including curriculum development and material preparation. Act as a liaison between Orpheus staff, co-instructors, teaching assistants, students, and parents, and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Candidates must be comfortable teaching acting, singing, and/or dance, and managing groups of up to 25 students. Previous teaching or instructional experience in musical theatre is required.
Hours - Monday through Friday, July 13th – 31st. 9:00am – 4:30pm
Pay – $900 - $1,100 / week, commensurate with experience
