The last two years have given us all a greater appreciation for what it means to plan for and stage community musical theatre productions during uncertain times. We all know how quickly the most recent wave of Covid 19 Omicron variant swept across the globe and we recognize the severe impact it has had on performing arts organizations. Regretfully, this ever-changing landscape as well as other related factors means that we will not be able to perform either of the previously announced shows Anything Goes and Something Rotten in June 2022.
Once again our society has experienced the profound disappointment of cancelling productions for which a lot of valuable volunteer effort had been invested. The overwhelming optimism and effort by our volunteers to attempt to continue was outstanding and truly a testament to the dedication of our volunteers. Orpheus is truly fortunate to be made from such a committed, talented group of individuals. On behalf of Orpheus members, the Orpheus Board of Directors sincerely thanks all involved in Anything Goes and Something Rotten for all their work.
While the 2021-2022 season will be completely dark, we are fully committed to returning to the stage for a full 2022-2023 season and are very close to announcing our upcoming line up of shows. Stay tuned!
